Qlixlist will be in Luxembourg from March 11-16 for the Colophon 2009 symposium. I’ll try to post pics and my daily musings, but we all know that probably will happen like a Chicago summer in March….lol
Will return to posting on March 17th. Til then…

Because it is much more fun browsing the Internet looking at inspiration (fashionable) from all “walks of everything”, as opposed to “living on a prayer” in the T&A sector of men’s magazines – yes I work for a men’s magazine. I came across an article in Men.Style.com on Arlo Weiner, the 8 year-old stylistic muse and son of Matt Weiner, creator of television phenomenom – Mad Men. I see him as the industry’s (fashion) trickle up theory in hopes that a many adults will take heed on establishing your own style.
Definitely check out the slideshow of Arlo’s impeccable sense of style. While clicking through the various images, I am amazed at the fact that this young dandy can articulate his fashion sense and style into words better than top-notch fashion journalists during the various fashion weeks.

Qlixlist on occassion will be highlighting quotes that they come across that makes us laugh, cry, or just say wth? Jean-Paul Gaultier takes the “Don’t QUOTE me on it” debut with this following quote from the Yahoo News article Pink won’t be friends with designers who use fur:
“They piss me off because they’re violent,” Gaultier said. “Frankly I don’t give a damn. I will continue to do fur, I love doing fur.”
Gotta love the French’s honesty.

My adoration for all fashion international doesn’t just stop at Australia Vogue or London Fashion Week, but the continues to grow as my constant search and find of online boutiques builds. To explain in laymen’s terms and not like prose from an Emily Bronte poem – I’ve came across Fashion Confidential. I love it and like it all at the same time. Very hard for me to do.
Keeping it simple in these economic times, I’ve browsed the “sale” (my favorite word) section and have found several gems that would upgrade any wardrobe. To give a hint of what I’m talking about, I’ve provided a little visual stimulation. Enjoy!

With the American dollar fairing a little better against the Euro, one can’t help but trek overseas for her or his fashion fix. A good stylist and friend of mine – Gemma Cummins, has gotten me hooked to Styleserver.de. A Berlin based online boutique with an eclectic array of independent designers you normally wouldn’t even find in the most discerning of social circles…and that’s a good thing. 🙂 The price range is a bit on the expensive side, but there is nothing wrong with a bit of a splurge here and there…right? Plus in times of a recession it is best to buy clothes of quality aside from quantity. I’ve posted some pics of my favorite looks below. Check out this site soon, before it becomes tooo mainstream. Enjoy!
“The ruffles gives that “Lady GaGa” edge without being too over-the-top.”
“I’m a sucker for unusual prints and scraves. So versatile.”
“I would so buy this dress in both the black and white colors. So Alice in Wonderlandish.”
