Rachel Roy Graces Macy’s Chicago

Fashion designer, Rachel Roy made a personal appearance last night at the  Macy’s, Chicago location, to unveil her new line RACHEL.  The event had a very nice mixture of a crowd (i.e. fashionistas, cool kids, etc.)  I meet a fellow fashion blogger, Rachel Yeomans, who happened to have scored a great interview with Rachel Roy (that’s the back of her head in all the images).

You can tell that from the pieces shown that Rachel had a fun time creating this line.  As described in the papermag lookbook that was distributed at the event, Rachel mentions that her new line is inspired by the woman who is the younger sister to the Rachel Roy collection; that style is anything that can make you tell your story through how you present yourself; and that every girl should have killer heels, a LBD, and cardis in their closet.   Well what will definitely be in my closet are the velvet-black overalls (which you can see in the slideshow below) and the velvet 24 hour mini dress

Aside from very nicely crafted clothing, DJ A-Cup ( love the name) was there to provide the tunes while looking stylishly coiffed herself. Food (blue cheese burgers and fries and champagne ) were served by several AF (Abercrombie & Fitch) looking cuties.

Thought I’d end this post with a gorgeous image of Chicago architecture and how lovely of a day it was in Chicago.  Shopping only made it better.
